2009 - Chapter “L” Long Rider Competition Have you had enough of just commuting to work and short weekend rides. Well, it is time to get on the road and put some SERIOUS miles on your Wing! The Chapter member who puts the highest number of miles on his/her Gold Wing/Motorcycle during the 2009 riding season will be recognized as the Chapter's very first LONG RIDER. At the end of the year, we reward the chapter member who rode the most miles with a great prize and 15 minutes of fame (the winner will be featured in the Chapter newsletter and on our Web site). Here's how
it works: Your bike's ending odometer reading and total mileage will be recorded and certified at the end of the Chapter's final Chapter meeting in 2009. One rider may use more than one bike throughout the year, but all of his/her motorcycle odometers must be recorded and certified in order for the total mileage from multiple motorcycles to count. Beginning certification must be done as described above. If you sell your bike and buy a new one during the riding season, have a Chapter Officer certify your bike's ending odometer reading prior to getting rid of the bike, and the beginning odometer reading of your new bike. That way, you will get credit for all of the miles you ride on both motorcycles. Since this will be relatively rare, we can make "house calls" if necessary. IN THE INTEREST OF FAIRNESS, NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE TO THE PRECEDING RULES. In the event of a tie, a drawing will be held. Running your motorcycle on the center stand in your garage will result in immediate disqualification, but you will be given a free pass to the Atascadero State Hospital. Decision of the judges is final. HAVE FUN AND RIDE SAFELY |
