Report of the 2005 Death Valley Adventure - Part Two of Four
As you might have seen from the national news media, Death Valley experienced a "hundred year event" in terms of the explosion of wildflowers. The very wet season ( nearly 8 " in the park) and mild temperatures combined to activate the seeds. Acres upon acres of primarily yellow blooms spilled over the alluvial fans the breath of portions of the valley. If you simply perk along at 65 mph, much of the diversity of the blooms will be lost to you. But if, you stop and "smell the flowers" so to speak, you are treated to a proliferation of blossoms that is spectacular. Please enjoy some of the benignly captured flowers from there.
